Archiving Files

• Examples:

tar cvf UG.tar ch1.txt ch2.txt

• Creates a new archive called UG.tar that contains ch1.txt and ch2.txt; Also gives user information about the operation

tar xvf UG.tar

• Extracts the files from UG.tar and gives user information about the operation
